Filmy Tadka – Located on the Shivam Road is one of the few eateries in this location with casual dining experience. Ambiance of this place is kind of filmy with vibrant colors. Visited Fimly Tadka as a part of meetup with few fellow foodies. Filmy Tadka serves only vegetarian food.
The welcome drinks aka mocktails included Mint mojito and fruit punch. While the Min mojito is ok, it could have been more better if the essence blended well. Fruitpunch lacked the flavour of fruits and tasted more like a vanilla drink.
Among the soups, Manchow and Hot&Sour were served and they were just ok.
Vegetable Spring Rolls, Paneer Maharaja, Veg Cheese Balls, Veg Manchuria and Gold Coin were served as part of th starters. Veg Spring rolls were crisp and the vegetable filling was medium spicy. Veg Cheese balls were well made. Thick cheese mould in corn flour & deep fried. Even though it was deep fried, it wasn’t too oily. Liked the way it was made. We were introduced to a new starter called the veg chilli stick which was made of crumbled bread mixed with minced vegetables and served in the form of balls. Since this dish has bread as the main ingredient and deep fried, it was too oily. Dragon Paneer was infact Paneer tikka where Paneer was topped with sliced capsicum and onion. If the Paneer would have been more soft, this dish would have been a killer.
Moving on to maincourse, we did have couple of Rotis & Naans with Paneer Maharaja , Nizami Hundi curry and Dal Tadka. Paneer Maharaja was no different than the regular kadai paneer and Nizami Hundi was the typical mixed vegetable curry. Among all the curries, Dal was the best. Among the rice items, Shezwan rice and Jeera rice were served. Shezwan rice was a bit tangy; but the combination of Jeera Rice & Dal was awesome. Nothing could have been more better than this combo.
Ended the meal with a piece of Gulab Jamun that was very soft & the sweetness was not overloaded.
