Cinema Social is a resto-bar with a party ambiance and a nice dance floor. While we visited on a Friday evening, there were loud bollywood songs played from the DJ’s console which kept the crowd grooving. The floor was dimly lit which was apt for the dancing crowd.
I was invited along with a group foodies by the management to taste their kebabs. To begin with, we were offered the mock tails – Blue Lagoon and Pina Colada. Blue Lagoon is a combination of sprite blended with blue curacao syrup; where as Pina Colada is served in a Pine Apple fruit wherein the edible part of the fruit is churned well till it take the form of juice and served with a pinch of scotch. Both the mock tails are refreshing.
All the tables are provisioned with barbecue grills and we get to grill the starters as per our taste. While the non vegetarian kebabs were just awesome, there is a lot of scope for improvement in the vegetarian starters. The paneer was not properly marinated and it tasted bland; but the mushroom was very tender, juicy & tasty.
Among the non-vegetarian starters, the best dishes to try are the fish & chips, tandoor grilled prawns, hot & spicy apollo fish, murgh tikka kebab and murgh malai kebabs. The meat was very well marinated with spices and grilled to perfection.
Moving on to main course, we were served tawa fried chicken biryani and vegetable fried rice. The chicken biryani doesn’t have the taste of the dum biryani, but the flavor of the masala used is good which is usually found in biryanis made in coastal andhra.
Overall, it is a nice place and would be liked by people who like loud music, dance and spicy food.
