Flying Beans is an all day cafe & bistro located at Filmnagar, serving the specialties of Mexican, Italian and Thai cuisine. With a bunch of bistros mushrooming all over the city, Flying Beans located near the hilltop of Filmnagar as a beautiful enclosed and alfresco sections extending onto the sidewalk. Amply provisioned with a nice garden, and seating tables spread across, it is an apt place to relax in the evenings over a cup of coffee and snacks. It seemed to be a good place for small private parties or events.

Being an all day cafe that is open from 10AM to 11PM, we can feast on omelette variants, snack bites, burgers, sandwiches, pizzas, waffles, crepes and desserts.

I was invited to Flying Beans along with a bunch of foodies to taste some of their specialty dishes and provide feedback. A special menu was curated that comprised of beverages, starters, main course and desserts. With Flying Beans located in the posh locality of Hyderabad and the high expectations of the clientele, the management promises to use the best quality ingredients in all its dishes and it is evident in the quality of food served.

We began the session with tasting of Green Tea Carafe, Irish Coffee and Frappuccino. While Irish Coffee and Frappuccino are good, Green Tea Carafe stands apart with its fantastic aroma that comes from the blend of green tea leaves, ginger, honey and a dash of lime.

Hot & Spicy Karampodi Onion Rings and Minced Chicken Nachos topped with cheese were part of the starters. Fiery Onion Rings sprinkled amply with Karam Podi (Red Chilli Masala) and layered on a bed of fries served with tomato sauce gives a good kickstart! Salt & Pepper Shrimp is a fried dish wherein the marinated prawns dipped in batter, deep fried and served with mayo leaves us finger licking.

For the main course, Chicken Parmesan, American chicken burger, Savoured Crepes, Thai green curry(veg) and Thai Red Curry along with steamed rice were served. Chicken parmesan, the Italian dish consisted of a breaded chicken breast topped with tomato sauce and mozzarella, parmesan and served along with Spaghetti was flavorful. American chicken burger had breaded chicken breast piece sandwiched along with loads of cheese; served along with fries, it is a bomb on the tummy. Thai curries (green & red) were well cooked in coconut milk and the flavor of lemon grass was nice. Savoured crepe, the typical Italian dosa 🙂 stuffed with battered paneer blended with spices was good.

Moving on to the final leg of the meal, we were served a bunch of desserts – Krispy Kreme Custard, Silver sin waffle, churros, Pannacotta, Tres Leches, Blue Berry cheese cake and Banana cake. All of the desserts were plated in a classy manner and well presented. While Panacotta was encased in a cage of caramel; Waffles were topped with various fruits, cream and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Finely sliced banana cake and churros were good.

Overall, I personally liked the ambiance and would prefer to visit again for a bunch of snacks and coffee.
